Orca’s New Wetsuit Range: A Perfect Fit for Women Who Love Open Water Swimming

Orca’s New Wetsuit Range: A Perfect Fit for Women Who Love Open Water Swimming

Open water swimming is now hugely popular in Ireland and around the world. The beauty of it lies in it’s accessibility meaning that it can be enjoyed by everyone. It is an amazing way to get in touch with nature, connect with others in the swimming community and build healthy and active lifestyles.

A high proportion of the individuals that have started open water swimming in recent years are women. That’s why we absolutely love that Orca have recognised this and together with the release of the new open water wetsuit range have introduced additional sizes in their Womens wetsuit range. We all come in different sizes and with these additional options it makes it even easier to find the perfect fit.

The new Orca womens wetsuit sizes explained

With a size range covering everyone from Extra Small to Extra Large, Orca have now added two new sizes - namely MW and LW. These slot in next to their Medium and Large sizes offering more space for the female body around the hips and chest where needed. Orca call this V Fit+ and when developing these new patterns aimed at achieving a comfortable fit that allows unrestricted movement for female body shapes.

The new Orca Vitalis TRN Open Water Swimming Wetsuit

The Vitalis TRN Wetsuit is the evolution of the Openwater Core TRN and is the perfect wetsuit if you are getting into open water swimming and are looking for a wetsuit to offer you flexibility and thermal insulation.

The Orca Vitalis wetsuit features 3mm panels in the upper body and legs, which gives it a neutral buoyancy to improve your position in the water. In the shoulders and arms the wetsuit has 2mm panels for added stretch and flexibility to give you freedom with every stroke.

Who is it for:

If you are new to open water swimming and would like to get your first swimming wetsuit without making a compromise. If you are upgrading from a shorty or an allround 3/2 full length wetsuit you have been using in the past. If you would like a wetsuit that is made for swimmers to allow you to improve your position in the water, swim faster, get less tired and be able to swim longer.

Made to last with sustainability in mind

Orca work very closely with Yamamoto Corporation to develop new materials for their wetsuits. Currently the most sustainable raw material for obtaining neoprene is limestone, compared to other, more polluting processes in which neoprene is obtained from oil. Yamamoto have perfected the process of obtaining neoprene from limestone and the characteristics of this neoprene contribute to its better performance and ensure maximum durability.

Orca don’t stop there, they are also constantly working on making their packaging more sustainable so that today their entire range of wetsuits and accessories comes in recycled cardboard packaging instead of single-use plastic.
